KAADA/PATTON – ROMANCES

Let’s face it, the world needs more romance. The television and print media is filled with violence and negativity. When is the last time you told someone you loved them? To help move you in that direction, your friends at Ipecac Recordings offer you the audio equivalent of a group hug. “Romances” is the long rumored collaboration between Kaada and Mike Patton (two years in the making). Kaada as you will recall created the 2003 masterpiece “Thank You For Giving Me Your Valuable Time”. That poppy, bright release was critically acclaimed and helped establish the Norwegian musician, John Kaada as an innovative young artist to be reckoned with. Not quite as direct as “Thank You”, “Romances” acts as the soundtrack to a dreamy era of love and longing. The beautiful Kaada soundscapes are augmented by the smooth, eerie vocal work as well as the unpredictable electronic manipulation of Mike Patton (Fantômas, Tomahawk, etc.). Gorgeous 6 panel chipboard digipak enhanced with silver & spot gloss, designed by Master Martin Kvamme (Tomahawk, Fantômas). Mike Patton. Need we say more?
